These days I use Brazillian dark roast coffee or Starbucks Sumatra Decaf with the single shot pressurized brew basket, and always I like the coffee. When I get a new brand coffee where I do not like the result. Also I found I can blend 2 kinds of coffee to improve the taste In general, I can adjust the amount of coffee in the brew basket, or add more milk or sugar, so fine tuning of settings is not a requirement for me. More expensive models include a grinder and more settings. I use pre ground coffee, so the Duo-Temp Pro was definitely the right Breville model for me. I attribute this to the duo temp feature, since that is the main difference from the previous Breville model. This coffee was great with the Duo-Temp Pro. The first time I used the machine, it was with ground coffee that never came out good with my previous espresso maker, or any other brewing method. Great results and a product that lasts were key to my decision to buy Breville. The results are always predicable, and I am very satisfied. Good quality is a factor for me, as I use the machine for 2-5 shots every day. My previous model Breville Cafe Roma lasted for 5+ years, and I was happy with that one too. ![]() If you can’t find one locally, you can buy the Duo-Temp Pro Espresso Machine at espresso every time and a very reliable product I have been using the Duo-Temp Pro for more than a year with no issues and never any unpleasant surprises. It doesn't have a fancy design, but has a classic look I really like, and it's totally functional. One final point I’ll make is that this is an attractive and very solid machine. Actually, it’s really great, because I’m not a very organized person, and usually end up losing that stuff. This is great for keeping your filter baskets, cleaning tools and so on. On the subject of storage, there is also a storage tray tucked in behind the drip tray. I appreciate the inclusion of the tamper, and really like how the storage spot keeps it within easy reach. The Duo-Temp comes with its own tamper, which is held in its storage spot with a magnet. There are a couple of minor features I like too. So you get a better, more even extraction. Pre-infusion ensures that all the coffee is wet before full pressure is applied. This prevents channeling, where the water pushes through at the points of least resistance.typically around the edges of the coffee. First, it wets all the coffee grinds at low pressure. In other words, when applying the water pressure to make the shot of espresso, it doesn’t immediately jump to the full pressure. The other cool thing with this machine is its low–pressure pre-infusion process. Either they compromise on the water temperature for both the espresso and the milk, or they are too slow to change the temperature for when you pull that second shot. Most home espresso machines in this price range don’t have this feature. Once you have finished with the milk, the temperate automatically and quickly drops back to 93 degrees, ready for if you want to pull another shot. When you froth the milk, the temperature in changed to about 135 degrees. When you’ll pulling your shot of espresso, the temperature of the water is set at about 93 degrees Celsius. Long story short – the Duo-Temp Pro is much better, with a couple of features I really appreciate.įirst off, as its name suggests, it operates at two different temperatures.
